"In other news, Willy Franklin, our regular bass player for many years,
has decided to cut back on touring and stay closer to home, so you'll
be seeing Willy less frequently with the band this year. We'll miss
Willy, and we wish him the best. In addition to being a great guy and

The bass position in the BP Band this year will be covered jointly by
two old friends (though not at the same time): Paul Thompson, who
played with us on The Soul Collection and at the Belgium R&B Festival
in 2003; and Tom Valentine, former bass player in Billy Price and the
Keystone Rhythm Band."
